Prefabrication and residential housing

Separator

In 1975 Recchi and the Dutch company Hojgaard & Schultz A/S set up a joint venture for a major urban development project, commissioned by Jamahiriya Araba Libica Popolare Socialista, to build residential housing in the city of Tripoli. 255 three and four-storey buildings were erected in just 30 months, using the heavy prefabrication system, for a total of 3,272 apartments and 19,950 rooms. The production process included the quarry for extracting the material required to make the concrete, the component manufacturing factory and the construction site. The average output was 5.6 complete apartments per day.
